Job Description
Future Build Recruitment are looking to speak with experienced Temporary Works Designers to interview with our client who are an established Groundworks & Civil Engineering Contractor based in London.
Main responsibilities
- Design and Development of structural schemes for Temporary works – both Structural and Geotechnical Design.
- Analysis of structures using advanced techniques and software, including FEM analysis.
- Production and assessment of drawings and schemes.
- Compliance with the Standards, Codes of Practice and all the expected quality procedures.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience in the design of Temporary Works.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE / IStructE.
About you:
Experience in the design of Temporary Works, including some of the following:
- Foundations (crane bases, working platforms, shallow footings, piles, micro-piles).
- Retaining structures (secant piled walls, king post walls, cantilever walls).
- Slope stabilization (ground anchors, nails, props) and analysis of soil investigation.
- Proprietary systems (falsework, formwork, shoring, scaffolding, backpropping and hoarding).
- Temporary structures on steel and reinforced concrete.
- Façade retention.
- Demolition works.
- Understanding of structural behaviour.
- Experience with FEM analysis software.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Team oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
